YouTube opens its AI music tool for resolving copyright claims outside the US
On videos with a copyright claim, four instrumental tracks are generated in place of the song. The feature has opened in most countries outside the European Economic Area.

On 3 November 2026, YouTube opened the music generation feature it added to the "Replace song" tool in Studio to countries outside the US. According to the company's forum announcement, the feature is available in most countries outside the European Economic Area. The EU, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein are excluded. YouTube did not give a list of the new countries, so you need to check in Studio whether it is open in Türkiye.
How does it work?
A creator whose video has received an audio copyright claim presses the Create button that appears in the suggestions tab of the tool. Four instrumental tracks of about three minutes each are generated. The tracks can be looped, their volume can be adjusted and they can be downloaded as mp3. When the claimed audio is fully replaced, the copyright claim is lifted automatically.
Limits
There is no text box; you cannot ask for a genre, mood or instrument. If you do not like the results, you have to refresh the page and generate a new set. The tracks have no vocals. YouTube states that the generated music is for use on YouTube, so it is not presented as a suitable route for use on other platforms. The change also cannot be undone, so it makes sense to keep a copy of the video first.
The announcement does not name the model that produces the music. PPC Land writes that who owns the tracks and why the EU is excluded have not been explained either.
